Astronaut Frank Culbertson Remembers 9/11 From Space. He was the commander of the International Space Station when the attacks happened and offers a unique perspective from above. I remember being at a radio station in Orlando, sitting in my office. My wife called to say that the World Trade Center was "on fire". It seemed to be very intense. Of course, we learned a short time later that a place had crashed into the building. I ran to the control room down the hall and stood there with my morning show watching in horror as the story unfolded. They stayed on the air that day until well into the afternoon. It was a tough job reporting on the tragedy and not really being able to take the time to "feel" the full brunt of what had happened. It struck me later that night sitting at home watching the TV, as tears streamed down my face. I knew this was something that would stay with me for the rest of my life. Let's never forget!
