We don't know much about being chased by mountain lions, but we're pretty sure that trying to reason with them isn't the way to get one to leave you alone. The mountain lion must've had babies or something nearby because it really chased this man for a considerable amount of time. Meanwhile this dude is just repeating to the Mountain Lion that he's "going away!"
All of that pleading may have been the reason that the mountain lion kept running after him for so long in the first place.
