Our Trip To Roanoke's Mill Mountain Star

When Mo and I went back to Virginia earlier this summer we always try to make a stop at Roanoke's amazing Mill Mountain Star. I wanted to show you this panoramic view of "The Star City."  The "Roanoke Star" as it is sometimes referred is actually the world's largest freestanding illuminated man made star. It was built in 1949 when the city's merchant's association built it for the Christmas Shopping season. It's 88.5 feet tall. Mill Mountain is also home to the Mill Mountain Zoo. If you are ever in the area, it's so worth the short trip. -Sally
