From the opening of the Magic Kingdom, 47 years ago, never once was an alcoholic beverage served at one of their restaurants. This decision was per Walt Disney's wishes. He didn't want anything in his park that would cause a rowdy environment.
Well, that's all officially changing today as the park has made a decision to serve alcohol at all of Magic Kingdom's table service restaurants. This changed started to come about in 2012 when the Beauty and the Best themed restaurant "Be Our Guest" opened up. This was the first and ONLY restaurant in the park to serve alcohol. Now wine and beer will be served at all sit down restaurants including The Plaza Restaurant, The Crystal Palace, and The Diamond Horseshoe.
These restaurants just add to the parks who were already serving beer and wine including Disney's Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and of course Epcot!
A lot of park goers are saying that they really don't need a spiked beverage in the park. That it's family time and they want to enjoy the experience. Others are sharing that because it is family time that is exactly why they need the beverage!
What about you? Are you okay with the new change to Magic Kingdom or are you siding with Walt Disney who is rolling over in his grave?
I mean just look at Mickey after he's had a few!
