Sally's Recipe Of The Week: Country Style Pork Ribs

Oven Baked Country Style Pork “Ribs”

Serves 4

Here is what you need:

2 pounds country style pork ribs – they are actually pork shoulder!

2 TBS brown sugar

2 TBS smoked paprika

2 tsp salt

2 tsp black pepper

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp cayenne powder

BBQ sauce of your choice (optional)

Here is what you need to do:

Preheat oven to 325.

Make the rub. In a bowl combine the sugar, paprika, salt, pepper , garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne.

Line a baking sheet with foil. Take the ribs and blot them dry with a paper towel.  Coat the ribs with the dry rub and place on the baking sheet. Cover with foil and seal tightly.

Pop the ribs in the oven for 1 hour 30 minutes. The next step is up to you. After the time is up you can remove them from the oven and serve with some BBQ sauce on the side if you want. The ribs are delicious even without sauce. Also you can slather some sauce on the ribs and pop them under the broiler for about 2 minutes.

Serve with your favorite sides. I like Dutch Yellow Peewee Potatoes roasted in butter and herbs and a salad.  Let’s Eat!!
