Volunteer of the Week - Florencio Zavala

VOTW Florencio Zavala

Florencio Zavala has been a volunteer at Gove Elementary School and the Glades community for over 18 years.

Mr. Flo used his organizational skills to create an innovative system to manage reading intervention materials. He created wildflower, rock, vegetable, sunflower and butterfly gardens. He has developed hands-on lessons that enable students to develop teamwork skills.

Mr. Flo has been an integral part of accomplishing green projects on our campus that resulted in Gove’s Green Team winning several awards.

The students love working with Mr. Flo, who volunteers at least 30 hours a week and serves as a positive male role model for many students. His support for our school and community is immeasurable.

Thank you Florencio Zavala – you rock!
