Power of Positive: Teachers Asst. Starts New Tradition and the Kids Love It!

Sometimes it's the simple things that make us smile. Take Cindy Matthews, for example. She is a teacher's assistant in Texas. One time, about 3 years ago, the weather was gloomy and rainy for about 3 weeks straight, and the kids were all restless and gloomy themselves. So one morning, Matthews showed up at school wearing a raincoat and a swimming tube. The kids enjoyed it and so she decided to start wearing silly costumes to school every day, everything from Minnie Mouse to Dr. Seuss and so many others.

The principal and the parents all love and appreciate what she does...and the kids love it, too, even the "cool" kids. Matthews says she just wants to show others that it's possible to be happy and have a positive outlook on life! And THAT is a lesson we are NEVER too old to learn!
