Aretha Franklin's "Respect" Played At Buckingham Palace Before Her Funeral

The song "Respect" was played during the Changing of the Guard ceremony Friday morning in honor of Aretha Franklin.

The funeral service for the "Queen of Soul" was happening a short time later, so the Band of the Welsh Guards decided to perform a cover of her 1967 hit.

Franklin died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 76 earlier this month.

The Army in London tweeted a video of the performance, writing "Respect for others underpins all we do in the British Army so it was no surprise that the Welsh Guards band paid tribute to the musical icon and inspiration."
