A Clermont man says he mistakenly received a professional golfer's winnings in his bank account.
Thomas Fleetwood says he got a bank notice last weekend showing a deposit in his account of nearly $155,000 from the PGA European Tour.
The money was meant for golfer Tommy Fleetwood, who finished tied for 12th in the British Open.
No joke, a friend received Tommy Fleetwood's Open Championship winnings in his bank account last weekend!! They have the same name and he was a PGA pro but still, how does this happen? Didn't believe him until I saw it...good thing he is an honest guy! pic.twitter.com/bE534xfYDV— #Break30 Golf Short Game School (@GregThornerGolf) August 8, 2018
Thomas Fleetwood is a teaching golf pro. He says the PGA European Tour had his account information because he applied to play on the European tour's senior circuit.
