"No Zombies," Say Lake Worth Officials After Alert Went Out

Officials with the city of Lake Worth want residents to know that there is no concern over the possibility of zombies.

This after an alert was sent over the weekend during a power outage.  In addition to the outage itself, the alert warned about zombies in the city and Terminus, a reference to the TV show "The Walking Dead."

More than seven thousand Lake Worth residents received the zombie warning.

The city manager says they're looking into how the "zombie alert" happened.

A city spokesperson says it was either a hoax by a city employee or the system was hacked by an outside vendor that operates the city's power outage map.

This story has gotten national attention, but again no worries residents: No Zombies in Lake Worth!
