The Palm Beach County School District is reminding students, staff and parents of its policy sent out last year that should students kneel during the national anthem before games this school year, they will not be punished.
A school district spokeswoman says there should be no consequences or interventions and no threats or warnings should be made to students if they kneel. The one caveat...if the student's conduct is substantially disruptive or vulgar, there can be discipline.
There were a few players on the Palm Beach Lakes High School football team who chose to take a knee last year and there are reports that one player for the team knelt before a game against Royal Palm Beach High Wednesday night.
