Jobs Added To Economy In April Pushes Unemployment Rate Down To 4.4 Percent

Florida's jobless rate was down 0.8 percentage point from a year ago.  

July's unemployment rate sat at 4.1%, according to the Department of Economic Opportunity.  There were 411,000 people still out of work in Florida.  

The jobless rate was unchanged from June 2017.  

While Palm Beach County's unemployment rate actually ticked up a tenth of a percent from June to July, the 4.5% rate last month was down from 5.3 percent in July 2016.
