Cast members from "Happy Days" are remembering Erin Moran, who played Joanie Cunningham in the hit show and "Joanie Loves Chachi" later.
The 56-year-old Moran was found dead over the weekend at her home in Indiana. Cause of death has not been released, but she had troubles ranging from alcohol to financial struggles in recent years.
Henry Winkler, who played Arthur Fonzarelli aka "The Fonz" or "Fonzie" on "Happy Days", tweeted "now you will finally have the peace you wanted so badly here on earth ...Rest In It serenely now.. too soon".
I had the chance to speak with Henry back in 2012, ahead of an appearance at a local casino, where the motorcycle he used in the show was being given away. During our interview, Winkler told me that he hadn't spoken with Moran in a while, even though he kept in touch with most of the cast.
Ron Howard, who played Joanie's sister, Richie Cunningham tweeted that her death was "such sad sad news" and that he would always remember her for getting laughs and lighting up TV screens.
Scott Baio played Chachi on "Happy Days" and "Joanie Loves Chachi", and here is what he tweeted over the weekend.
As a side note, I think it's horrible that Baio is dealing with angry tweets from people who seem to want to blame him somehow for Moran's death.
It should be noted that Baio has been criticized in recent years for his conservative political beliefs and his support for President Trump during the election and currently, as you can see in his profile pic on Twitter.
Baio spoke at the Republican National Convention last year.
Don Most played Ralph Mouth on "Happy Days" and here is what he tweeted regarding Moran's death.
Marion Ross, who played Joanie's mother, Marion Cunningham, told NBC News Moran "was the quickest, fastest little kid. Wonderful."
