A Grateful Dead t-shirt from 1967 has sold at auction for just under $18,000 ($17,640).
It belonged to the band's longtime engineer Dan Healy, it was part of the big Sotheby's eight-day online auction, From the Vault: Property from the Grateful Dead and Friends.
The shirt, which is in excellent condition, is believed to be one of the first ones they ever produced, with the design done by Allan “Gut” Terk, a former Hells Angel.
Prior to this, the most expensive vintage t-shirt sale was a Led Zeppelin one from their 1979 concerts at Knebworth house in England, which sold for $10,000 on eBay in 2011.
