The City of Parkland (City) will host a Community Commemoration on Sunday, February 14, 2021 to honor the 17 victims and the MSD Community. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Pine Trails Park and the City will observe this as a Day of Love and Remembrance.
Event Overview
Support services will be available at Pine Trails Park beginning at 5:30 p.m. in addition to off-site wellness resources listed below that are always available to the community. The event will include therapy dogs on-site, display boards where the community can write messages, a brief commemoration ceremony, and video honoring the victims and supporting the MSD community.
There will likely be traffic congestion in Pine Trails Park and along the roads surrounding the park. Motorists are encouraged to carpool, allow plenty of extra time, exercise caution, and be patient and understanding.
COVID protocols will be in place including honoring physical distancing and use of properly worn face masks.
Commemoration Ceremony and video at the Amphitheatre
5:30 p.m.
A brief commemoration ceremony conducted by spiritual leaders to honor the 17 victims and the MSD community. A short video will be shown immediately following the ceremony.
