HERB ALPERT: Documentary Debuts in May

Herb Alpert Is... the documentary on the trumpeter, music mogul and philanthropist will have its world premiere May 5th at the Grammy Museum in L.A.

That's only fitting as Alpert is a nine-time Grammy winner -- most famously, his Tijuana Brass recording of "A Taste of Honey" earned Record of the Year for 1965. He founded A&M, which rivaled Motown among the most successful independent labels with an artist roster brimming with legends-in-the-making such as The Police,Janet Jackson,Peter Frampton,The Carpenters and Cat Stevens

Now 84, Alpert remains active as recording artist. His latest recent album,Over the Rainbow, debuted at number-one on Billboard's Jazz and Contemporary Jazz Album charts.
