The Florida Department of Environmental Protection will be conducting a prescribed burn on Monday at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound.

It will consist of 280 acres of pine flatwoods in the middle of the park near the picnic area and Park Drive, weather permitting.

These fires are conducted to restore healthy forests, and natural communities and reduce undergrowth that accumulates over time and decreases the potential for wildfire.
