Gregory Tony Wins Broward Sheriff's Race

Democratic candidate and current Sheriff for Broward County, Gregory Tony will be keeping his job. He took the race on Tuesday against Republican challenger H. Wayne Clark.

In a tweet Tony thanked his supporters saying "Thank you Broward County! Together, we did this. I look forward to leading the great & hard-working people at the Broward Sheriff's Office over the next four years as we continue to make BSO the finest law enforcement agency in Florida and an example of excellence for the nation".

As a reminder, Tony was appointed by Governor DeSantis in 2019 after he removing former Broward Sheriff Scott Israel over his handling of the mass shootings at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the Parkland school shooting.

Also, back in August, Tony won the Democratic nomination after defeating Israel in the primaries.
