My wife and I thought it looked full last night...so hopefully the clouds will part tonight for the rise of the Wolf moon.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —2020 is going to be an exciting year, moon wise that is. We're going to have 13 full moons, 2 super-moons and even a blue moon!
The first Full moon of the year is today, Friday January 10. It will technically be officially full when it is set below our horizon at 2:23 p.m., but it will still appear full in the sky tonight. Moon rise is Friday evening at 5:48 p.m. and it will set just before 8 a.m. on Saturday.
We will then have 12 more full moons this year. One during each month except in October, in which we will have 2. That second full moon in October is called a Blue Moon, and it will occur on Halloween. Talk about spooky!
We'll see two super-moons this year as well. Meaning the moon with be closer to earth on it's orbit and will appear much larger and brighter in the sky. Those will occur on March 9 and April 7.
