This guy comes out of nowhere and attacks this poor woman working at a Walmart in Stuart. My wife works in retail and constantly worries about some crazy idiot doing something. What is wrong with people!
STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A cashier is recovering after being attacked by a customer at a Walmart in Stuart. The attack is caught on camera. Stuart Police shared video of the attack which happened on Wednesday evening. Police said the video shows Peter McGaughran in the checkout line. McGaughran walked around the bagging area and pushed the cashier up against the counter, choking her. Libia Evans, the clerk, told CBS12 News reporter Denise Sawyer she feared for her life. Store security workers rushed over to pull him off. Once officers arrived, police said McGaughran tried to kick and head-butt officers. McGaughran is from Wilmington, Delaware. He's facing charges of battery, resisting arrest without violence, assault on a law enforcement officer, and battery on a law enforcement officer. Investigators have not said what provoked the attack. McGaughran is being held at the Martin County Jail.
