Ed Sheeran's Dad To Honor Singer With 'Made In Suffolk' Early Days Exhibit

Ed Sheeran is about to receive an honor like no other and it'll take place in his stomping grounds of Suffold, England.

On Friday (June 7), it was announced that the star's father, John Sheeran, will curate an exhibit celebrating his pre-fame days at the Christchurch Mansion in his family's hometown. Deemed "Ed Sheeran: Made in Suffolk," the showcase is scheduled to open on August 20 and run for nine months. Among the items set to appear in the exhibit include memorabilia selected by his father, portraits, tributes from local artists and items straight from the 28-year-old early performing days. Contributing artists include portrait artist Colin Davidson and documentary photographer Mark Surridge. "I'm doing my homecoming shows end of August in Ipswich, the first proper headline shows I've ever done in my home town," Sheeran captioned a throwback photo of him as a teenager. "My dad has unearthed a load of photos from my early days, I've lent a load of stuff too, for an exhibition that will run for 9 months at Ipswich's Christchurch Mansion from August 20 - until spring 2020. Go and see it. Lots of love."

Sheeran has a string of homecoming shows set for Chantry Park in Ipswich from August 23-26 days after the exhibit opens to the public. "The choice of Ipswich shows just how important his Suffolk roots are to him," his father said via BBC News. "Ed has a deep affection for the landscape and its people. This exhibition reflects that - its title is Made in Suffolk, which he was."

In the meantime, you can prepare yourself for the release of No. 6 Collaborations Project, which drops on July 12.
