Luke Perry's Fiancée Breaks Silence On His Tragic Death For The First Time

28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in LA - Red Carpet & Cocktails

Luke Perry’s fiancée has spoken out for the first time since the actor's unfortunate death.

Wendy Madison Bauer, who was involved with Perry for over 10 years, released a statement on Saturday (March 9) concerning the death of her fiancé, who tragically passed away on Monday (March 4) after suffering a "massive stroke" the week before. He was 52.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of love and support,” Bauer told Entertainment Tonight. “The countless, heartwarming stories of Luke’s generosity and kindness have been a great source of solace during this difficult time.”

“The past 11½ years with Luke were the happiest years of my life, and I am grateful to have had that time with him,” she continued. “I also want to thank his children, family, and friends for their love and support. We have found comfort in one another and in the knowledge that our lives were touched by an extraordinary man. He will be dearly missed."

Perry and Bauer's somewhat secret relationship was made public when the couple appeared on the GLAAD Media Awards red carpet in 2017.

Bauer is the latest to comment on the Riverdale and Beverly Hills, 90210 star's death.

Perry's surviving children — son Jack, 21; and daughter Sophie, 18 — from his previous marriage to actress Minnie Sharp have also mourned their father's death.

"I’ve learned so much from you, and my heart is broken thinking about everything you won’t be here for," Jack wrote on Instagram. "I’ll miss you every day that I walk this earth. I’ll do whatever I can to carry on your legacy and make you proud. I love you Dad."

"I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them, and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I," wrote Sophie, adding, "I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation … So bare [sic] with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly."
