Jenni Farley Shares Thoughtful Way She Copes With Son's Autism Diagnosis

Rookie USA Fashion Show

Jenni "JWoww" Farley is resting more assuredly these days since her son was diagnosed with autism last year.

During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE on Friday (March 8), the Jersey Shore star revealed how KultureCity, a nonprofit committed to creating acceptance and inclusion for individuals with autism, became a life-changing support system for her and her baby boy, Greyson Valor.

Farley revealed the organization not only built a sensory room for her 2-year-old son in their home but has also been taught her to manage with her situation in ways that made her feel comforted.

“When it comes to educating myself so I feel less alone, they help me in that aspect,” she told the outlet. “Every time I’m feeling down or alone, I hit up KultureCity and I’m like, ‘What can we do to make someone’s life better?’ Because it makes mine better.”

“That’s where giving back really has helped,” she said. "I get a flood of messages [from families] telling me how I’ve helped them or opened their eyes or showed them things that they weren’t aware of. That’s really what it’s all about.”

Greyson, born May 2016, is the reality star's second child with estranged husband Roger Mathews, from whom she filed for divorce in September 2018.

In the past, Farley accused Mathews of being a negligent parent and claimed he has put their children's "health and well-being" at risk on multiple occasions. Despite Mathews' supposed noninvolvement, Farley's Jersey Shore co-star Nicole Snooki" Polizzi has been "one of my biggest supporters and sidekicks."

As far as Greyson's progress is concerned, it's been "brilliant," says Farley, adding he's come a long way from not knowing his own name to reciting "all his ABCs."
