Back To School Treat - Perseid Meteor Shower

School starts Monday in Palm Beach County, but this weekend is also the peak for the Perseid Meteor Shower.  For the best viewing, look Northeast after dusk on Sunday night, through sunrise Monday morning for the best viewing, but you should be able to see them pretty much in any direction.

I remember laying on our sundeck at our summer house in Maine watching the "shooting stars".  We huddled in blankets grabbed from the cedar chest in the upstairs hallway.  It was usually very chilly at night, even in the summer.  What great memories to have from childhood.  Glad we got to do those things.  The night sky still fascinates me when I look up...although admittedly here in South Florida we don't have too many stars visible with all of the city lights!  Now if you venture into the Everglades far enough, that's a different story.  Check out the video below to find out more about the meteor shower...and make some memories with your kids this weekend.
