Woman in Palm City Found Opossum Under The Hood Of Her Car

The mechanics at Highway Tire and Auto in Palm City had quite an experience when they went to work on one woman's car the other day.

Upon walking up the vehicle, the shop employee Johnny spotted something odd and furry peeking through the front grill of the car. He immediately reached out to the Martin County Sheriff's Office who sent an officer from their Animal Services Unit out to investigate.

What did they find? An opossum trapped between the front grill and the engine!

The sheriff's office said the animal appeared to have been trapped there for about three days. The good news is the animal was uninjured other than being a bit dehydrated. The animal was then taken to the Treasure Coast Wildlife Hospital until it can be released back to the wild.

What a story! You don't see that everyday. I guess it's better that he was in the car instead of under the car though!
