Michael Buble to Host 2018 Juno Awards

Michael Bublé is set to host the 2018 Juno Awards a year after the Canadian crooner pulled out of the Canadian music awards show amid his son's cancer battle.

Russell Peters and Bryan Adams replaced him as hosts of the north-of-the-border music event earlier this year, but Bublé on Tuesday announced he will be in his hometown of Vancouver to host the 47th edition of the Junos on March 25, 2018.

"I’m so grateful for the opportunity to host such an iconic night in Canadian music," Bublé said in a statement. "To be able to host the Juno Awards in my hometown is both an honor and a privilege."

Bublé hosted the 2013 Junos just as his wife, Argentine actress and model Luisana Lopilato, was expecting their first child. Then, last year, he had to step down from all hosting gigs, including the 2017 Junos and the Brit Awards, after his 4-year-old son's cancer diagnosis.

Buble and and his wife first revealed their son Noah was ill in November 2016. The couple and their family attended a gala awards show in June 2017 in Ottawa, where Buble received a career tribute.

The pop star's latest Juno gig is part of a career comeback, which will include a few concert appearances in summer 2018.

Buble has dominated the Canadian music awards over the years by winning in all 12 categories. The Junos, staged by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, will air on the CBC network.
