I came upon this article in the Miami New Times about the apartment building that played a huge role in 1983 movie "Scarface" starring Al Pacino. It is being made into a CVS pharmacy.
If you've seen the film (if not, please do...you'll thank me), this is the apartment building on the beach in Miami during a scene in which a chainsaw plays the leading role. If you need a refresher, watch the video below but BEWARE: VIOLENT AND BLOODY.
Turns out, this was one of the few scenes actually shot in Miami, which for a film that is supposed to take place fully in Miami, came as a surprise to me.
According to the article, CVS plans on keeping the front facade of the building and the development company provides a mock-up of how the store will look when all is said and done.
AGAIN: THE BELOW VIDEO IS VERY VIOLENT. USE CAUTION.
