Here are some things to do around town this weekend.
The full-sized South Florida Fair is back after organizers decided to hold a "mini-fair" back in January due to the pandemic, which only had outdoor events and kids rides. This time it will look more like the fair you're used to experiencing. The theme is "An Earthly A-Fair," and the expo center will be full with displays and vendors and the midway will feature kids and adult rides, as well as the standard fair food. Gates open at 10 a.m. today and guests will be admitted free during the first two hours. As mentioned yesterday, get a COVID vaccination at the fair through Monday, get a free ticket to return to the fair on another day.
The Fort Lauderdale Air Show is happening both tomorrow and Sunday. A dozen acts will take to the skies north of Sunrise Boulevard and A1A, including the F-16 Viper Demo Team, the Para-Commandos and the headliners... the Navy Blue Angels celebrating their 75th anniversary in their new, larger and more powerful Super Hornets. The Blue Angels haven't performed since 2019. Performances are expected between 11:30a.m. and 3p.m. each day.
Damon Wayans Sr. performs at the Improv at Rosemary Square in West Palm Beach. He has two shows tonight, two more tomorrow night and one on Sunday night.
