Land Crabs have invaded a Stuart neighborhood! Abriel Arnel captured them on video and says it's the worst she has seen them. Researchers at the University of Florida say that the mating season runs through December...so it the invasion may not be over. I remember a time while living in Orlando when we had these little millipede things (technical term...ha-ha). They were so small that they were able to get into the house in and around door seals. They were EVERYWHERE for week. When you accidentally stepped on one (sorry if this is gross...) they smelled kinda like mint. Yuck. I still remember vividly. We thought it would never end, so I can sympathize. Apparently the crabs can also damage tires when you run over them in the street. Tire shops in the area have been doing extra business due to the invasion.
