Taylor Swift hosted a live webcast yesterday afternoon, during which she announced her fifth studio album 1989 and premiered the music video for her new Max Martin and Shellback-produced single “Shake It Off.” After describing 1989as her “very first, documented, official pop album,” Swift revealed that the album will be released October 27. Swift also explained that the deluxe version of the album will include three voice memos from her phone, and that the next tour will include a “Swiftstakes” that will dole out 1,989 prizes including 1,000 tickets and 500 meet-and-greets to fans. Swift wrapped up the livestream by debuting the Mark Romanek-directed video for “Shake It Off,” which finds the singer poking fun at her own dancing skills in variety of costumes and contexts.
