Comic-Con is happening this weekend, so here are some interesting facts about the event: The first official San Diego Comic-Con was a three-day event, which went down in 1970 . . . and 300 people attended. Now, it draws over 130,000, and brings in over $165 million in revenue for San Diego.
Here's a new video on the history of Comic-Con
On-Air KOOL 105.5: Monday through Friday 3pm - 8pm / Saturday and Sunday 2pm - 6pm
On-Air WAVE 92.7: Monday through Friday 8pm - Midnight
I have been part of the South Florida & Treasure Coast airwaves since 1986 with WRLX, then WMXQ before it flipped to oldies in 1988 (WOLL). Except for a 5 hear hiatus (1992 - 1997) when I moved back to New England to take care of my dad , I have been on the air in these markets ever since.
When I moved back to Florida in 1997 I worked for WRMF, then for "The Frog" and "Thunder Country" with call letters WXFG in 1998 before they flipped to WILD 95.5.
Shortly after that, I returned to WOLL (KOOL 105.5) where I have done every major day part from mornings to middays to afternoons ever since.
I was also the Morning guy on WQOL from 2008 - 2015 and am happy to make nights on WAVE 92.7 a new part of my radio resume.
In my spare time on the weekends, I enjoy being a Mobile DJ Entertainer and Master of Ceremonies specializing in Weddings. I also do anniversary parties, adult birthdays and events as well as corporate events. My website is www.SkipKelly.com (go figure, right?) Check it out sometime !
