If you're not already emotional over the bombings in Boston, this'll get ya. A guy named Rene Rancourt has been singing the National Anthem at Boston Bruins hockey games for the last 37 years.
And last night . . . before the Bruins' first game back since the attack . . . he sang the first few lines. But then the crowd overpowered him, and he let THEM sing it.
On-Air Weekday Mornings 4 am - 10 am
Monty “Mo” Foster – Mo became a fan of the radio business early in life. His mother would set him on the kitchen counter while she cooked and together they would listen to the Peck & Peggy morning show in Dallas, Texas. When Mo was a teenager he got a job as a deejay at a skating rink. (Mo was actually a 5-state roller disco champion! Yes, DISCO!!) Soon after high school, he cornered a job at a small country music station in Terrell, Texas. From there he would land various part-time jobs in Dallas before joining ABC’s Satellite Music Network. Working nights on a Top 40 format, Mo could be heard on over 60 radio stations across America. Also working with ABC-International, Mo recorded shows for Shanghai, China and Wellington, New Zealand. Wanting to get back to local radio, Mo moved from Dallas to Roanoke, Virginia and that’s where he met his future wife, Sally Sevareid. They started their “married morning show” in the Roanoke Valley before moving it to Richmond, Virginia and eventually West Palm Beach, Florida. Mo & Sally have been married 20 years and working together 21 years. They live in Palm Beach Gardens with their 3 cats. Mo & Sally are dedicated to helping all animals and promoting the adoption of sheltered cats and dogs.
