In November, voters will decide if medical marijuana should be legal in Florida, but if the measure passes don't expect insurance companies to cover it.  The industry is sending a clear message that it won't pay for the treatment, which can cost as much as $1,000 per month.

Most insurers are reluctant because the drug is still illegal at the federal level, and it’s not approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

The latest polls show almost 90 percent of Florida voters support passage of the pot amendment.
