Palm Beach County's jobless rate has inched up to 6.1 percent in June, from 6.2 percent in May.  The percentage of those out of work in the county has gone down from 7.9 percent one year ago.

The state's unemployment rate dipped by a tenth of a percentage point, to 6.1 percent, but Florida's unemployment rate is now higher than the national rate.
The national jobless rate is 6.1 percent.

This is the first time in more than a year that Florida's rate is higher than the national rate.
The good economic news is that the state led the nation in job growth according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.   Florida gained more than 37,000 jobs in June.

Martin County's jobless rate inched up to 6.2 percent in June, from 6.1 in May.
