We've been hearing from some remarkable kids at local schools.  Five of them will be competing for thousands of dollars wortth of scholarship money in the "Watch a Rising Star" event later this month.

It's presented by Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast.

This week, we hear from Kevin Paul, a senior at The Pine School in Martin County.  We asked him what his performance art encompasses.

"I'm in musical theater.  So, that's singing, acting and dancing.  I also happen to play the piano and the guitar and I dabble in the harmonica and the ukelele."

Kevin tells us that Junior Achievement teaches students what they need to know to become successful business owners, whether they own a store or get into show business.

"They provided us with lessons, each of the contestants and we've been training and working on our pieces, individually."

Hear more from Kevin, including what he plans to perform for you at "Watch a Rising Star", Saturday, February 22nd, at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.
