Two weekends ago, we were dealing with Irma. Last weekend, you may have been dealing with Hurricane Irma clean-up. Now, perhaps you have some time to enjoy yourself in Palm Beach County, and most things are back to normal, or at least close to it.
The Lake Worth Pier finally reopened on Wednesday, but there are three beaches that were closed to swimmers as of earlier this week. This is due to high levels of dangerous bacteria:
Phil Foster Park on Singer Island
Boynton Beach
Jupiter Beach
John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is back open for daytime use only. There are more than 50 Florida State parks around the state that remains closed due to Irma.
The Palm Beach Zoo is back open, partially, and tickets are at a discount after sustaining damage from Hurricane Irma. The zoo hopes to open in full next week, but in the meantime many of the exhibits are open along with animal meet and greets.
Lion Country Safari is open, as is the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach and other galleries in the area.
Most local restaurants are open as well.
Then there's this event at the Palm Beach Outlets:
"Cars and Coffee" happens on Sunday from 8 a.m. to Noon.
Organizers say an extremely rare 1967 Shelby Mustang will be among the vehicles on display, worth an estimated $20 million. There will also be food trucks and entertainment at the event at the outlets on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.
